My name is Mónica DRamírez. I moved from Oaxaca, Mexico to the United States as a young teenager and graduated from the University at Albany, State University of New York in 2018, where I majored in Criminal Justice, and Psychology. I am a citizen of the USA who is trilingual in Copala Triqui / Trique, Spanish, and English. I have considerable professional experience in legal and medical interpretation. I also collaborate with linguists on a wide range of projects through the Albany Triqui Working Group. I am the former founder of Triquis sin Fronteras UAlbany, a community group dedicated to preserving and promoting Triqui culture abroad, practicing participatory democracy, equal rights, and multiculturalism.
Providing translation and interpretation services between Trique and Copala Triqui to Spanish and English speakers and the US Government Agencies that enable seamless communication amongst foreign populations of multi-linguistic origins.
Please contact me if you are in need of my expertise!
I previously collaborated on projects with linguists, such as creating pedagogical materials for children.
In addition, I worked regularly as a consultant for the Field Methods course at the University at Albany, SUNY. I helped undergraduate and graduate students translate and transcribe Copala Triqui phrases they elicited from me into English and Spanish.
I am the former founder and active member of Triquis sin Fronteras UAlbany, a professional, educational, and cultural community organization that promotes Copala Triqui culture and language. I work with both members of Triquis sin Fronteras and the University at Albany to create connections and to provide services for members of the Copala Triqui community. English and Spanish.

I translate between Copala Triqui/ Trique, Spanish, and English.
It should be noted that I cannot translate into/from Chicahuaxtla or Itunyoso Triqui. The variety of Triqui that I speak, Copala Triqui, is very different from the Chicahuaxtla and Itunyoso varieties and they are not mutually intelligible.
Yes! I can and often do travel for translation/interpretation purposes, including long distances. Most of my clients are located in New York, California, and Alaska.
I can provide translation and interpretation services for almost any situation, including medical and legal settings. This includes but is not limited to hospitals, courtrooms, prisons/jails, and schools.
I can not provide services that require writing in Copala Triqui / Trique, as Copala Triqui is not traditionally a written language. I can, however, provide services speaking Copala Triqui.
Because situations vary so drastically, I do not currently have a flat rate. Please contact me with further details about your needs and we can discuss price.
